Jane Helsley Velten
is training consultant and principal in Mandorla Resources International, a Dallas-based company specializing in Diversity and Human Relations. She has developed curriculum and led trainings in corporations such as AT&T and MetLife, as well as for the Greater Dallas Community Relations Commission, and Camp Fire Council of Texas.
Since 1992, Jane has co-led Essential Partnership/Women & Men workshops throughout the U.S. and Europe, and currently trains & certifies facilitators for this international program. She recently led trainings in St. Petersburg, Russia and Noordwijk, the Netherlands.
A trained Voice Dialogue facilitator, she consults with individuals who want to develop more awareness of their inner diversity in order to bring healing to outer conflicts. In her work with individuals and groups, Jane models effective relationship skills. Her personal style is warm and inviting, and she encourages her clients to approach potential conflicts with curiosity rather than anger or defensiveness.
She began her career as a high school educator, going on to become a professional writer for more than 15 years. During that time, she worked at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) for six years, assuming management responsibilities for the Creative Services Department. She left that position in 1986 to form her own company, Helsley Communications, and in 1987, her work was recognized with an award from the International Association of Business Communicators.
Jane continues to offer her writing skills to current clients through Mandorla Resources International. In 1997-99, she collaborated with Dallas' PBS TV station KERA to help create and launch First Impressions, a programming and outreach campaign spotlighting the developmental possibilities in the first five years of life.
A mother of two, Jane lives in Dallas with her life partner, Dirk Velten, also a principal in Mandorla Resources International. M.R.I.'s affiliates are drawn from a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural alliance of resources, including colleagues, trainers, and facilitators from around the world.
"In whatever work I do -
whether it's with a group or
an individual client - my focus is
on the issues behind the 'presenting
problems.' And generally, those
issues are spiritual at their core.
When the spirit is engaged,
real change can happen."
