[ History of EP/W&M ]Partnership is the primary focus of Mandorla Resources International because we believe it is the essential ingredient for empowered relationships in our increasingly interdependent world. The better partners we can be, the more effectively we can address the larger challenges of society.
In Essential Partnership/Women & Men, the archetypal opposites of the Feminine and the Masculine provide a framework for hands-on practice of the essential skills of partnership. These skills apply to multiple forms of partnership - business or romantic, personal or professional, same or different gender. Whatever the context, our goal is the same: to increase your ease and competency in managing the challenging and creative power of partnership.
We offer this meaningful process with profound gratitude to Jerilyn Brusseau and Danaan Parry who gave birth to this work more than 10 years ago through the international alliance known as The Earthstewards Network, Since then, more than 400 people from 30 different countries have been trained as facilitators of what is known internationally as Essential Peacemaking/Women & Men. Note: Most of our EP/W&M workshops are offered in weekend retreat formats; however, one-day trainings are available upon request.
Essential Partnership I
Give yourself an opportunity to slow the pace of day-to-day activity long enough to allow quality time for relaxing, learning, and restoration. Although this retreat is only two days and two nights in length, our goal is to give participants an individual and collective sense of partnership that will last far beyond the weekend.
We honor partnership in a variety of forms - from intimate partnerships between men and women, women and women, or men and men, to workplace partnerships between colleagues of either gender. While the focus is on gender issues, there is also room to explore how questions of ethnicity, sexual orientation, and alternative gender identities are inevitably interrelated.
Our partnership with Spirit - in both Its Masculine and Feminine expression - informs our work together, as does our partnership with Nature. We choose to host our retreats in natural settings - apart from city energy - and we ask participants to leave cell phones, pagers, and laptops hehind, if at all possible. Bring a journal in which to record your thoughts and experiences of the weekend; in the days that follow, you'll want to remember the magic that can often only be captured in the present moment.
What happens in an Essential Partnership I Retreat?
Participants learn basic skills of collaborative speaking and listening, and then receive time to practice these skills in a variety of settings and experiences. Elegantly simple, these skills are often difficult to remember in the heat of conflict, so the session offers multiple opportunities for practice within a safe space.
No one has all the answers, particularly regarding a topic as volatile as gender and relationship. We've worked with groups around the world, and we can pass on more than a decade's experience in working constructively with the energy of conflict. At the same time, we are clear that we learn something new at every workshop. Much of the wisdom comes from the group itself, the innate wisdom that emerges from fully-engaged men and women.
