Essential Partnership II
(prerequisite: Essential Partnership I)

This Essential Partnership/Women & Men weekend retreat offers a deepening experience of the Collaborative Dialogue principles explored in Essential Partnership I. This weekend will offer time for self-reflection and renewal (Inner Partnership), as well as the space for courageous conversations about problems facing the human community (Outer Partnership).

Day One: Inner Partnership

Using the process of Voice Dialogue as a guide, we'll explore the conflicting voices we all carry within ourselves and how they have been shaped by cultural messages. With small group support, we'll practice communicating and acting from both our primary and disowned selves. This experience of Inner Partnership illuminates issues of "internalized oppression" and can be personally transforming and empowering.

Day Two: Outer Partnership

Using the skills and principles of both Voice Dialogue and Collaborative Communication, we'll look squarely at how societal issues - such as racism, sexism, and homophobia - impact questions of gender and relationship. This experience of Outer Partnership can result in better informed and more effective action in one's family and community.

By bringing together the Mandorla of Inner and Outer Partnership, we become more fully effective in healing our lives and our planet.
